Percentiles provide information regarding where an object ranks on a distribution. The median of a distribution is the 50th percentile. If an object is in the 75th percentile, only 25% of the population ranks higher than it on the metric of interest.

In the relations tab, penetration is shown in percentiles trended out when you press T on a comparison subject. What the percentile is saying - in this case - is compared to similarly categorized focus subjects in the market vertical of interest, where does the comparison subject's rate of penetration of the focus subject rank. If a comparison subject is in the 90th percentile on its penetration rate of the focus subject, this means that the comparison subject only has a higher penetration rate of 10% of similarly categorized objects objects in the vertical of interest.
