Percentiles provide information regarding where an object ranks on a distribution. The median of a distribution is the 50th percentile. If an object is in the 75th percentile, only 25% of the population ranks higher than it on the metric of interest.
In the audience tab, the percent contribution coming from a specific demo, psychographic, or region is shown in percentiles. What the percentile is saying - in this case - is compared to similarly categorized objects in the market vertical of interest, where does the object rank in terms of its percent contribution coming from a specific demo, psychographic, or region. If an object is in the 90th percentile in terms of its percent contribution coming from Ages 25-29, this means that only 10% of similarly categorized objects in the market vertical of interest have a higher percent contribution coming from this demo.
