An index expresses how much above or below the median an comparison object's relationship to the focus object is relative to the norm of similarly categorized objects within the selected market vertical. The median (or the norm) is represented by 100. If something has a 500 index, this means that it is 5X the median.

In the relations tab, the Index tells how the comparison subject penetration (the rate of the comparison subject conversations among all focus subject conversations) relates to the median rate of the focus subject conversations. The Index is always given a base of 100, thus a 176 Index indicates the comparison subject conversation 76% (or 1.76X) more likely to also relate to the focus subject.
